We are Honeybis..

And just like us, there’s more to the honey than meets the eye. Sure.. we could go on and on about how we’re a Philly native, black-owned company united by the sheer force of destiny. Perhaps the universe conspired to bring together two curly-haired, big-brained dudes after 30+ years of life experience in vigorous work ethic, philanthropic endeavors, and recreational journeys… but, I digress.

Uhh..what were we talking about?

OH YES! We are Honeybis but I think we said that already… Anyway, more to the honey, yes. Did I mention we use the finest ORGANIC honeys from local apiaries of bee oasis with the propensity to buzz you up to heaven? Well now you know.

And the TERPENES! Yes, the terpenes. We’ve learned a lot about these floral, aromatic compounds that will elevate your mood. If you don’t know about that, you should know that they’re in so many plants like lavender, pine, CANNABIS, etc. This gives us the unique smells and properties naturally developed amongst a variety of herbs and spices. But while we’re on the topic of cannabis, we’re obviously ALL ABOUT IT, especially cannabinol AKA CBD. Being food lovers ourselves, we recognize that edibles are underrated as educational tools to understanding all the hidden properties that nature’s green herbs and plants have always had to offer. We favor infused honey because, not only are our bees’ efforts also underrated, this natural sweetener has proven to be a phenomenal conduit to a variety of recipes and dose administrations.

Weed catches a bad rap from all the chronic smokers, non-smokers and people who don’t believe in the healing benefits and multifunctional use of the miracle plant. We’re here to help break the stigma and ease you into understanding why hemp/cannabis/weed is good. For starters, hemp has been the original substance behind the production of textile, pottery and especially medicine since the beginning of known civilization—about 8,000 BC, give or take a couple years… Today, this herbal remedy has been recognized to aid in MANY ailments such as insomnia, anxiety, convulsions, arthritis, dysentery, and cancer. That’s right! Cancer… but, there’s still many studies trying to verify that claim so we can’t officially state that to be a sure thing. Yet, we’ve all heard of the many testimonies attributing to the ways cannabis has improved people’s way of life—small or big. Just google it and see for yourself.

As I put on my lab coat and goggles, we’d like to briefly point out that our bodies have what’s called an endocannabinoid system. This is a biological system composed of endocannabinoids, which are endogenous lipid-based retrograde neurotransmitters that bind to cannabinoid receptors, and cannabinoid receptor proteins that are expressed throughout the vertebrate central nervous system and peripheral nervous system. Endocannabinoids are molecules like cannabinoids, but they’re produced by your own body. Different endocannabinoids might target variously set receptors of the two that are known as CB1 and CB2. For example, they may bind to CB1 receptors in a spinal nerve to relieve pain while others might bind to a CB2 receptor in your immune cells to signal that your body’s experiencing inflammation, which is a common sign of autoimmune disorders. Experts are still trying to fully understand the ECS. But so far, we know it plays a role in regulating a range of functions and processes, such as sleep, mood, memory, appetite, and fertility whilst maintaining homeostasis. Cannabinoids are great agents in driving these signals and receptors while creating a smooth cohesiveness to how they communicate throughout the body and mind. Furthermore, *Blah blah blah blah blah*   SCIENCE!

Basically, the ECS exists and is active in your body even if you don’t use cannabis. Yet, there are over 80 cannabinoids like the popular THC (delta-9 compound) and, our favorite, broad spectrum CBD that works to support the flow of this part in our anatomy. I, personally, don’t smoke the “reefer” anymore but edibles are the way to go, and I swear I’m not stoned when I say this. We’re just hype because we know that you don’t have to get high when our CBD extract can contribute to experiencing these benefits without the psychoactive component of THC. Our proprietary blend of organic honey with broad spectrum CBD and aromatic terpenes is sure to work wonders in many ways that will ease you into the love of all that is hemp. The sky’s the limit with possible uses and we have so many ideas for a line of products sure to rock your world.

ANNNNDDD, we plan to work with many cutting-edge hemp derivatives that’ll silence the “pros” and keep some clean ..stay tuned!
